Peabody is a large, diverse organisation, employing over 3000 people. This is a challenging role taking into account the recent and further upcoming changes within the building safety sector. The role requires someone with experience of specifying and inspecting works with regards to fire safety, in all buildings controlled by Peabody especially those designated high risk. This experience should have been gained within the building and maintenance sector, and be confirmed with qualifications and membership of a trade body, knowledge of asbestos and legionella regulations is also a pre-requisite.

• A commitment to continuing professional development.
• Extensive Technical Knowledge and the ability to comprehend complex issues with regards to fire safety in buildings at all stages of life cycle.
• Ability to work independently whilst always following best practice procedures and exercising good judgement and initiative in problem solving.
• Ability to interrogate information from various sources and collate comprehensive reports.
• Extensive experience and training in Microsoft Office, Northgate and housing management programmes.
• Proven ability to work to tight guidelines and targets.
• Proven ability to be able to carry out full type 4 Fire Risk Assessments.
• Understanding of B.I.M. protocol, building safety information and how these can be combined in a safety file.
• Previous experience within social housing in a similar role.
• Proven ability to work on a variety of complex tasks simultaneously.
• Extensive knowledge of building and housing services and their combined role in ensuring building safety.
• Proven ability to train others (staff and clients) in fire safety and their role in it.
• Good understanding of all relevant legislation and guidance’s.
• Active membership and attendance at meetings of a trade organisation.

Qualifications desired:

NEBOSH fire or equivalent
Membership of a professional body (IFE, FPA, IFSM)
Building trade background an advantage.
