Peabody are working alongside NHS mental health services to make lasting improvements to the lives of adults with enduring mental health problems. The service is one that focusses on increasing independence in demonstrable ways which allow our customers to be the best they can be while managing their mental health with the support of on site mental health professionals. If you have patience, understanding, great communication skills, are a team player and are motivated by improving the lives of those that need your help then this may be a role that suits you. Experience of working with people who have a mental illness is desirable; as is experience of support and rehabilitation. 

The aim of the Mental Health Rehabilitation Service is to help residents improve the management of their lives through increasing their independence in mental health management; physical health management; living skills; social networks; engaging in work / meaningful activities; managing relationships; improving self identity / self esteem. We want our customers to use the service for two years and leave it in a stronger and more resilient position; able to live as independently as possible using the facilities available to them.  

As a successful candidate you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will tailor your support according to the needs of the customer and direction of Adult Social Care and the NHS Community Rehabilitation Service. The service you will be providing is based in the CT20 area of Folkestone, within a dedicated block of 11 self contained flats. Much of your work will take place within our customers' flats while you enable them to manage their homes and activities of daily life. Where / when possible, you will facilitate our customers to make full use of the resources in the wider community to further their personal goals as independently as their needs allow. You will be able to plan with each customer and break down tasks in ways that are manageable and suit their needs in specific areas.  By monitoring progress on support plans and sharing your observations with the rest of the team you will be working to help each customer improve their life in targeted areas.  

You will be required to work Saturdays & Sundays: 9 - 11am & 4 - 6pm, and Mon - Fri: 4pm - 6pm
