This role is currently based from home due to COVID 19 until further notice. Peabody plans to move to a hybrid model of working which means that once our office refurbishment has been completed, the role will be part office (Waterloo) and part home based.

To provide excellent front line customer service by working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our customers’ needs are met and the department/team objectives are achieved. To carry out inspections including resident surveys of several gas and mechanical projects and provide advice on various gas and mechanical issues to achieve a safe working system for Peabody and its workforce.

To monitor works on an on going basis and analyse any trends and failures and work with both the team and contractors to address and record these failings.

Skills/Experience required:

  • Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including being able to compile and complete complex investigations and report on those with conclusions and solutions.

  • Proven time management and prioritization skills.

  • Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.

  • Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets

  • To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organization

  • Working knowledge of the gas/mechanical services industry

  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation including CDM

  • Intermediate IT skill including knowledge of the Microsoft Office package

  • Experience of social housing environment

  • Demonstrate experience and skills managing customer relationships to ensure a high level of customer care and satisfaction.

 Qualifications required:

  • ACS qualification Domestic including cookers fires and central heating boilers.

  • An Auditing qualification to be reviewed on application.

  • Full UK drivers license and use of vehicle


  •  ACS Commercial
  • C+G legionella control or equivalent.
