Day Care Driver Support Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for a Driver Support Worker to join the team at the Sundial Centre in Tower Hamlets working with customers who have Dementia.  You will be responsible of providing a high-quality day care service to older adults. You will provide transport to and from the Centre and help provide people attending the Day Care Service, to lead an independent and stimulating life and promote individual choices.

Skills/experience required:

  • Experience of working with older adults in a paid or unpaid setting; ability to engage older adults through interaction.
  • Assessment, Support Planning and Risk Assessment
  • Ability to use relevant IT software packages (e.g. spreadsheets, word processing and databases)
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Understanding issues associated with ageing and adult social care.
  • Experience in personal care provision; certified and experienced in moving and handling people.
  • Experience and interest in providing day care activities.
  • Ability and knowledge to promote independence in others.
  • Approachable with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to engage with, motivate and encourage customers
  • Able to work on own initiative, as well as a committed team player

 

Qualifications required:

 

Essential:

  • Basic first aid qualified
  • Health & Social Care at Level
  • Clean UK Driving Licence held for minimum of 2 years, over the age of 25 years
  • D1 Licence and proven experience of driving a mini bus
  • MiDAS trained

Desirable:

  • Health and Social  Care at level 3
  • PATS Training
  • 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C (including Mathematics and English) or equivalent
